The Peninsula Plodders is a club of approximately sixty enthusiastic
and active members. The club provides support, coaching, and
encouragement to athletes at various levels. Whether you are a
novice, basic, or advanced, our club has members at your level.
Our club members participate in local races, including the
Front Runner's Island Race Series, the Royal Victoria Marathon Festival
of Running, the Times Colonist 10k, and many other events hosted in
the Capital Region and Island Communities.
We also have an active group of members training for triathlons.
These include all distances, from sprint, to Olympic, to Ironman. Some
of these triathlons include the Sooke Spring Sprint, The
Self-Transcendence Triathlon and Duathlon, LifeSport West Coast Subaru Half-Ironman Triathlon Series, and Subaru Ironman Canada.
Participation in races is not limited to local racing; some of our
more enthusiastic members travel far and wide to participate in
races abroad, from fun relays to international events.
As well,
we have men and woman competing in BC Masters Cycling Association
road races.
Participation is not limited to running and includes other
organized activities such as cycling, hiking, swimming and various
social events.
